Exam sessions: May–June and October–November each year

Subjects We Cover

The Cambridge Pathway — From Primary to A Level

IGCSE does not exist in isolation. It sits within the Cambridge Pathway, a continuous progression from primary school through to university entrance. Understanding the full pathway helps families plan tutoring support at exactly the right stage.

Cambridge Primary (Stages 1–6 | Grade 1–6 | Ages 5–11)

Covers English, Mathematics and Science across six stages. Students develop foundational literacy, numeracy and scientific enquiry skills. Internal progression tests are used throughout to track development.

⭐ Checkpoint Assessment

Cambridge Primary Checkpoint (Stage 6 | Grade 6 | Age ~11)

An optional external assessment at the end of Stage 6 in English, Mathematics and Science. Marked by Cambridge and reported on a 0–50 scale. Provides schools and parents with an independent benchmark before students move into Lower Secondary. Strong Checkpoint results are a good early predictor of IGCSE performance.

Cambridge Lower Secondary (Stages 7–9 | Grade 7–9 | Ages 11–14)

Builds on primary foundations across English, Mathematics, Science and other subjects. This stage prepares students for the increased rigour of IGCSE. Many students in UAE and India begin structured tutoring support at Stage 8–9 to close gaps before the high-stakes IGCSE years.

⭐ Checkpoint Assessment

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint (Stage 9 | Grade 9 | Age ~14)

An external benchmark assessment at the end of Lower Secondary in English, Mathematics and Science. Results are used by schools to guide subject choices and set appropriate IGCSE levels (Core vs Extended). A strong Checkpoint score at Grade 9 significantly improves IGCSE outcomes.

Cambridge IGCSE (Grade 10–11 | Ages 14–16)

The main qualification stage. Students typically take 5–10 subjects. Available as Core (grades C–G) or Extended (grades A*–E). Examination sessions run in May–June and October–November each year. Past paper practice and mark-scheme training are critical to achieving A* and A grades.

Cambridge AS & A Level (Grade 12–13 | Ages 16–19)

Post-IGCSE progression. AS Level is typically taken after one year; full A Level after two years. A Levels are the primary university entrance qualification at British-curriculum schools worldwide. Strong IGCSE grades are required for entry into A Level programmes.

IGCSE Core vs Extended — What Is the Difference?

Core Tier — Grades C to G

Core tier covers the fundamental aspects of each subject. Available grades: C to G. Suited to students who need a solid foundation and want to reduce exam pressure.

Extended Tier — Grades A* to E

Extended tier covers the full syllabus including more demanding content. Available grades: A* to E. Required for students targeting top universities or planning to progress to A Levels in that subject.

Our tutors assess each student's current performance and advise on the right tier, then prepare specifically for that tier's past papers and mark scheme requirements.
